Mercedes-Benz Malaysia previewed the electric C-Class C300 4MATIC AMG Line Plus today. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and offers a WLTP range of up to 690 kilometres from its 85 kWh usable battery.

The variant announced for the Malaysian market is the C 300 4MATIC Electric AMG Line Plus. Initial units will be fully imported before a future transition to local assembly.

Performance and charging specifications

The electric C-Class delivers 421 PS (310 kW) and 800 Nm of torque. Its 800-volt architecture supports DC fast charging at up to 320 kW, enabling a 10 to 80 percent state of charge in 22 minutes. Up to 290 km of range can be added in just 10 minutes under optimal conditions.

AC charging is handled by a 22 kW onboard charger, with a full charge taking approximately 4.5 hours. The rear electric motor uses a two-speed transmission, while the front motor can be disconnected to reduce energy losses. The vehicle's energy recuperation system can handle up to 300 kW of regenerative braking.

Design and dimensions

The electric C-Class adopts a fastback profile, achieving a drag coefficient of 0.22. Its dimensions are substantially larger than the combustion-powered W206 C-Class sedan.

It is 4,883 mm long, 1,892 mm wide, and 1,503 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,962 mm. This represents an increase of 132 mm in length, 72 mm in width, 65 mm in height, and 97 mm in wheelbase.

Styling features include a reinterpreted front grille with an optional illumination of 1,050 individual LEDs and Digital Light headlamps using micro-LED technology. The boot opens like a traditional sedan. The vehicle is equipped with a Sky Control panoramic roof with an electrochromic dimming function and acoustic glass.

Interior and technology

A central feature is the seamless MBUX Hyperscreen, a 39.1-inch continuous display spanning nearly the entire dashboard width. It comprises three screens under a single sheet of glass, powered by the Unity Game Engine for real-time graphics.

The system includes over 1,000 LEDs for local dimming, an integrated camera for video calls and selfies, and MBUX AI with ChatGPT4o, Microsoft Bing, and Google Gemini. The front passenger screen has a camera-based blocking function for safety. The cabin offers 11 selectable ambient lighting styles, Burmester 3D surround sound, and two ventilated wireless phone-charging trays.

Sports seats are finished in black leather with red stitching and matching red seat belts. The panoramic roof glass can switch between transparent and opaque in nine independently controlled sections, with 162 illuminated stars at night.

Pricing and availability

The estimated starting price for Peninsular Malaysia is RM360,888. Pre-booking is available through Agility+ financing, with estimated monthly payments from RM3,988.

Deliveries are expected to begin early next year. The model is part of a bridging programme for potential local assembly in the future.

The Malaysian-spec vehicle includes Comfort suspension with passive damping but does not feature AIRMATIC air suspension or rear-wheel steering. Driver assistance systems are comprehensive, bundling lane-change assist, steering assist, lane keeping, distance control, and parking functions under the MB.Drive Assist suite. Safety equipment includes 11 airbags and autonomous emergency braking.

Luggage space is split between a 470-litre rear boot and a 101-litre front boot. Deliveries are expected to start early next year.
