Ferrari Amalfi Spider debuts in ASEAN region
The Ferrari Amalfi Spider, a 640 PS V8 convertible, has premiered in Kuala Lumpur. The soft-top model is priced over RM3 million and shares its core mechanicals with the Amalfi coupe.

The Ferrari Amalfi Spider has made its ASEAN regional debut in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Ital Auto held the premiere event just over five months after the car's global reveal.
Measuring 4,660 mm long, 1,974 mm wide and 1,305 mm tall, the open-top variant is a four-millimetre longer and taller version of the Amalfi coupe. It shares the coupe's 2,670 mm wheelbase and minimalist front-end design, though the rear cabin section was reworked for the convertible format.
Roof and Comfort Features
The soft-top operates via a Z-fold kinematic system. Ferrari states it opens in 13.5 seconds and can be used while driving at speeds up to 60 km/h. The five-layer fabric roof is claimed to provide soundproofing and heat insulation comparable to a retractable hard top.
Buyers can choose from four tailor-made fabric colours and two technical fabric options. A new option called Tecnico Ottanio features a distinctive weave for a three-dimensional, shimmering effect.
With the roof stowed in a 220 mm-thick compartment, boot space is 172 litres. With the roof up, cargo volume increases to 255 litres. An integrated wind deflector in the rear seatbacks can be activated by the driver at speeds up to 170 km/h to reduce cabin turbulence and noise.
Performance and Powertrain
The convertible is powered by a F154 BH 3.9 litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine. It produces 640 PS at 7,500 rpm and 760 Nm of torque from 3,000 to 5,750 rpm. This output is 20 PS higher than the preceding Roma Spider.
Power reaches the rear wheels through an eight-speed Magna wet dual-clutch transmission. This unit, first seen on the SF90 Stradale, features a more powerful TCU and deeper engine software integration for improved shift quality.
Despite a weight increase, the open-top model matches the coupe's acceleration to 100 km/h. The performance figures are detailed in the table below.
| Performance Metric | Ferrari Amalfi Spider | Ferrari Amalfi Coupe |
|---|---|---|
| 0-100 km/h | 3.3 seconds | 3.3 seconds |
| 0-200 km/h | 9.4 seconds | 9.0 seconds |
| Top Speed | 320 km/h | 320 km/h |
| Dry Weight | 1,556 kg | 1,470 kg |
| Weight Distribution | 48% front / 52% rear | 50% front / 50% rear |
Chassis and Interior
Mechanical revisions from the coupe are carried over. These include the ABS Evo system from the 296 GTB, a reworked electric power steering setup, and a new brake-by-wire system. The active rear aero system offers three configurations: Low Drag, Medium Downforce, and High Downforce.
The car rides on 20-inch wheels with 245/35 R20 front and 285/35 R20 rear tyres. Inside, a new twin-cowl design replaces the Roma Spider's dual-cockpit layout. A 10.25-inch landscape infotainment screen sits ahead of a centre console machined from a single aluminium block, which houses a "gated" gear selector and a wireless charger. The steering wheel returns to physical buttons instead of haptic controls and includes a start button.
The price is "RM3 million plus" region after import duties and taxes, excluding customisation, registration, and insurance. This suggests it will be higher than the RM3.2 million price tag the Roma Spider carried in 2023. The Amalfi Spider also debuts a new exterior colour called Rosso Tramonto, which features subtle orange undertones inspired by the Amalfi coast at sunset.
