Honda July 2026 Global Output Falls 3.3%
Honda Motor Company reported a 3.3% year-on-year decline in global vehicle production for July 2026, with overseas output falling sharply.

Honda Motor Company's global vehicle production fell by 3.3% in July 2026. The Japanese automaker built 268,520 units last month, down from 277,637 units in July 2025.
Production within Japan saw a slight increase of 1%, reaching 68,450 units. This domestic growth was overshadowed by a 4.7% contraction in overseas output, which totaled 200,070 vehicles for the month.
Year-to-Date Production Trends
The decline extends a trend from the first seven months of the year. From January through July 2026, Honda's worldwide production decreased by 3.3% to 1,948,157 units. This compares to 2,014,018 units built in the same period a year earlier.
A 9% rise in Japanese production to 430,188 units was more than offset by a 6.3% drop in overseas manufacturing, which fell to 1,517,969 units.
Regional Manufacturing Performance
Regional performance has been sharply divergent. North American production through July rose by 8.2% to 1,013,129 units. This was driven by a strong 12% increase in the United States, where output reached 632,566 units.
In stark contrast, production across Asia plummeted by 32% to 426,595 units. The collapse was most severe in China, where output plunged by 43% to just 211,806 vehicles.

Domestic Market and Export Activity
Vehicle registrations in Honda's home market showed modest growth during the first seven months. Registrations in Japan increased by 2.8% to 382,392 units. Sales of mini-vehicles rose by 1.4% to 164,902 units, while sales of other vehicle types increased by 3.8% to 217,490 units.
Exports from Japan, however, fell sharply. Shipments declined by over 10% to 54,869 units for the January-July period. The export picture was mixed. Exports to Europe rose by 19% to 29,333 units. Shipments to North America plunged by 62% to 5,557 units. Exports to other key overseas markets also declined significantly.

The data reveals a complex production landscape for the automaker. Strength in North American and domestic Japanese operations is being undercut by severe weakness in Asia.
