Honda City Facelift Tour Heads to Southern Malaysia
Honda Malaysia is showcasing the 2026 City facelift in a southern tour across five locations in Johor, Melaka, and Negeri Sembilan from September 10-16.

Honda Malaysia's pre-launch tour for the 2026 City facelift is moving to the country's southern region. The tour will visit five locations in Johor, Melaka, and Negeri Sembilan from September 10 to September 16.
The southern shows begins at Batu Pahat Mall on September 10. It then moves to Lotus's Muar on September 11, Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall on September 12, and Arena Square in Seremban on September 13. Each of these stops will be open from 10 a.m. To 10 p.m. The tour concludes with a 24-hour display at Toppen Shopping Centre in Johor Bahru on September 15 and 16.
Design Updates
This marks the second facelift for the fifth-generation model, which was first launched in Malaysia in 2020. The front end is heavily revised with slimmer headlights and a new bumper design. The RS variant features a light bar connecting the LED daytime running lights. At the rear, the RS gets revised 'albino' style tail lamps and a new bumper. Exterior changes for the RS also include black accents and new two-tone 16-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 185/55 Toyo Proxes R57 tyres.
Interior and Technology
Inside the RS variant, the dashboard trim now has a textured silver finish with a red accent line, replacing the previous full-red treatment. Ambient lighting is added. The most significant upgrade is a new 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which will be available from the V variant upward. This screen integrates an updated 360-degree camera system with multi-view angles and moving object detection. A switch on the steering column stalk allows drivers to cycle through camera views.
Seat upholstery on the RS has been simplified, with the central 'bar' on the front seats removed. The e:HEV RS hybrid variant gains a new wireless charger but loses the three-piece sports pedals set, now featuring a two-piece design without an alloy footrest.
Safety and Driver Assistance
Honda Sensing remains standard equipment, a feature the report notes sets it apart from some national rivals where such systems are reserved for top variants. The suite includes autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane centring assist, road departure mitigation, front departure alert, and auto high beam. The e:HEV RS version has an exclusive stop-and-go function for its adaptive cruise control.
A new addition for the 2026 model is blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert. This system works alongside the existing LaneWatch camera. It provides a camera feed for the left-side blind spot and a conventional warning indicator for the right side.
Powertrain and Model Range
No mechanical changes are reported. Petrol models continue with a 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC engine producing 121 PS and 145 Nm, paired with a CVT. The e:HEV hybrid's i-MMD system is also unchanged, using a 109 PS electric motor for primary drive with the engine acting as a generator.
| Variant | Engine | Power (PS) | Torque (Nm) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Petrol Models | 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC | 121 | 145 |
| e:HEV Hybrid | i-MMD System (Electric Motor) | 109 | 253 |
The source indicates the current five-variant lineup (S, E, V, RS, e:HEV RS) may be trimmed to four. Since both RS petrol and RS hybrid models were shown at previews, one petrol variant is likely to be discontinued. Official pricing has not been announced. For reference, outgoing model prices started from RM84,900. The City Hatchback will receive this facelift at a later date.
