Nissan reveals new Pixo EV for European
Nissan has unveiled its new Pixo battery-electric city car, developed with Renault for European markets. The A-segment vehicle features an LFP battery and will be built in Slovenia, with deliveries starting in early 2027.

Nissan Motor has unveiled its all-new Pixo battery-electric city car. Developed in partnership with Renault, the vehicle is aimed primarily at European markets under Nissan's 'Mobility Intelligence for Everyday Life' theme. Customer deliveries are scheduled to begin in early 2027.
The Pixo expands Nissan's battery electric vehicle line-up into the A-segment. It is designed for urban driving.
Powertrain and charging specifications
The car is powered by a 27.5 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery. This is the first LFP battery to feature in a Nissan model sold in Europe. The battery provides a driving range of up to 259 kilometers.
Standard charging systems include a 50 kW DC rapid charger and an 11 kW AC home charging unit. The electric drive motor delivers a maximum power output of 60 kW.
| Feature | Specification |
|---|---|
| Battery Capacity | 27.5 kWh (LFP) |
| Driving Range | Up to 259 km |
| DC Rapid Charging | 50 kW |
| AC Home Charging | 11 kW |

Production and alliance strategy
The Pixo was designed by Nissan but will be produced at Renault's Novo Mesto plant in Slovenia. Nissan stated this arrangement demonstrates how the Alliance's capabilities bring new products to customers with speed and efficiency.
The automaker noted the car draws on shared expertise and complementary strengths from both Nissan and Renault. The goal was to deliver a city car that meets the specific needs of European customers.
Technology and features
Advanced driver assistance systems are included as standard. These consist of automated emergency braking, a lane-keeping system, and e-pedal technology.
Connected technologies feature the MyNissan navigation app. This provides real-time route planning, charging information, and vehicle functions. A built-in Google Gemini AI assistant is also included.
Executive commentary
Massimiliano Messina, chairman of Nissan's Africa, the Middle East, India, Europe, and Oceania division, commented on the launch. "The future of electric mobility is about smarter vehicles that fit naturally into people's lives," he said in a statement.
Messina added that the Pixo was designed specifically for Europe and its cities. He claimed it gives customers everything they need from an EV without unnecessary complexity.
He also linked the vehicle to broader market trends. As fuel costs rise, the case for switching to electrified vehicles grows stronger. Nissan positions itself at the heart of that shift through its expanding EV line-up and e-Power hybrid technology. The company aims to deliver solutions that lower running costs without compromising convenience.
The Pixo represents a strategic entry into the competitive small city car segment for Nissan.
