HCLTech has launched an AI-powered Verification and Validation platform for automotive software, built on NVIDIA's simulation and artificial intelligence technologies. The solution, called HCLTech V&V for Auto, targets vehicle manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers to accelerate software-defined vehicle validation workflows and reduce reliance on physical testing.

It aims to automate validation processes currently hindered by fragmented tool chains and manual workflows. The platform represents a shift from periodic, labour-intensive testing to continuous, intelligent validation, allowing customers to expand scenario coverage and identify test failures faster while maintaining a continuous digital record.

NVIDIA stack integration

The platform leverages NVIDIA Omniverse, Cosmos, Nemotron, and Isaac Sim to generate rare and safety-critical scenarios in virtual environments. This integration subjects code to virtual edge cases and dangerous driving conditions, cutting time and expenditure associated with physical road and track assessments.

Dr. Sebastian Scheurle, EMEA Industry Lead Automotive Enterprise at NVIDIA, emphasized that validation now sets the pace for software-defined vehicles. He stated that with NVIDIA Omniverse, Cosmos and Nemotron this solution leverages world-class simulation and AI capabilities to support automakers in moving more testing into simulation, covering rare scenarios earlier and releasing software with greater confidence.

AI-driven validation workflow

Testing workflows are handled by automated software agents built on the NVIDIA Agent Toolkit and driven by Nemotron open-source reasoning models. These agents oversee processes ranging from test creation to root-cause diagnosis of failures, producing an auditable digital trail that maps technical criteria directly to regulatory documentation.

The solution aims to address operational delays in software-defined vehicle development. Pankaj Tagra, Chief Growth Officer and Global Head of Mobility at HCLTech, noted that automotive software evolves faster than traditional validation processes can handle. He said frequent updates, complex systems, disconnected tools, manual testing, paper-based compliance checks, and changing international safety regulations make validation slow and difficult to scale without such intelligent tools.

Industry partnership context

HCLTech's launch follows Mercedes-Benz's recent partnership expansion with NVIDIA to develop next-generation driver-assistance systems. That work combines Mercedes-Benz's automotive engineering, safety expertise and MB.OS operating system with NVIDIA's accelerated computing and AI technologies.

The new HCLTech offering combines agentic AI, physical AI-powered simulation, and intelligent orchestration. It leverages a simulation-first operating model that connects requirements, test creation, execution, and compliance evidence across the entire software lifecycle, enabling organisations to make software release decisions with greater speed and confidence.
