Nissan Selects Valeo as Tier-1 for Next-Gen ProPILOT with Wayve AI
Valeo has been chosen by Nissan as the system Tier-1 partner for its next-generation ProPILOT automated driving program.

Nissan has selected Valeo as the top-tier system supplier for its next-generation ProPILOT automated driving program. The partnership, announced on October 1, 2026, tasks Valeo with full hardware and software integration for the AI-defined system.
As the lead system integrator, Valeo will bring together advanced sensors, ADAS computing, and Wayve's AI Driver software into a complete, production-ready solution. The company will work closely with both Nissan and Wayve to validate, integrate, and industrialize the platform for series production. This collaboration positions Valeo as a key enabler of Nissan's automated driving roadmap.
Integration of Wayve AI Driver into Valeo's Platform
Valeo will combine its high-performance hardware and software platform with Wayve's AI Driver technology. This integrated system is designed to be the driving intelligence layer within an automotive-grade framework. The goal is to bridge advanced AI capabilities with the stringent safety, quality, and scalability demands of mass-production vehicles.
The solution is engineered to deliver 360-degree perception and centralized intelligence. A dedicated ADAS domain controller will process complex AI algorithms, integrating information from a comprehensive sensor portfolio. Marc Vrecko, General Manager of the Valeo Brain Division, stated, "We are honoured to have been selected by Nissan as the System Tier-1 partner for its ambitious next-generation ProPILOT program."
Valeo's Role in Industrializing the Solution
Valeo's responsibility extends beyond integration to the full industrialization of the complex system. The program leverages the supplier's global expertise in ADAS, sensing technologies, software, and manufacturing processes. As the System Tier-1 provider, Valeo will supply a full-stack solution designed to provide centralized vehicle intelligence and situational awareness.
The partnership unites three companies across the automated driving technology stack. Valeo contributes its production-grade hardware and software, Nissan provides the vehicle platform and program direction, and Wayve supplies the core AI driving intelligence. Vrecko added, "This program demonstrates Valeo’s ability to combine a comprehensive sensor portfolio, high-performance computing and software expertise with advanced AI technology."
Valeo will now work with Nissan and Wayve through the development and industrialisation process to validate the integrated platform and prepare it for series production.
