BYD Atto 3 Premium gets Merdeka Blue
BYD launches a new Gemilang Blue color for the Atto 3 Premium in Malaysia, with a limited-time Merdeka price cut of RM14,000.
BYD has launched a new Gemilang Blue exterior colour for the Atto 3 Premium in Malaysia. The announcement, made in conjunction with Merdeka national day celebrations, includes a special price of RM124,800, which is RM14,000 less than the model's original launch price of RM138,800.
According to the report from paultan.org, the new shade is not a limited edition. The special pricing, however, is expected to be available for a defined period. This promotion brings the rear-wheel drive Premium variant's price below that of the front-wheel drive Ultra model, which retails for RM125,800.
The Gemilang Blue colour is described as being inspired by the spirit of Merdeka. It is reportedly the same Iris Blue signature colour that debuted on the European rear-wheel drive Evo version of the car, but has been renamed for the Malaysian market. This colour is available exclusively on the Premium variant.
Specifications and Performance
No other specification changes accompany the new colour. The Premium variant continues to be powered by a rear-mounted electric motor producing 313 PS and 380 Nm of torque. This output represents a significant increase over the front-wheel drive Ultra model, which makes 204 PS and 310 Nm.
Performance figures for the Premium include a claimed 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 5.5 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h. The vehicle uses a 74.88 kWh BYD Blade LFP battery, providing a WLTP-rated range of up to 510 km.
Charging and Warranty
The Premium variant's move to an 800-volt electrical architecture enables a maximum DC charging rate of 220 kW. BYD states this allows for a 10-80% state-of-charge to be achieved in approximately 25 minutes. AC charging capability is rated at 11 kW, enabling a full charge in around eight hours. The report notes the Ultra variant continues with a 400V architecture.
Warranty coverage remains unchanged from the model's launch earlier this year. The Atto 3 facelift comes with a six-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, plus an eight-year or 160,000 km warranty for the battery and motor.

Gemilang Blue joins the existing colour palette for the Atto 3, which includes Ski White, Atlantis Grey, Harbour Grey, and Cosmos Black. The special Merdeka pricing for the Premium is similar in value to a launch package previously offered, which was worth up to RM14,000 and included overtrade support and charging or service benefits.
