Lucid Group has partnered with Swiss automotive distributor Emil Frey to prepare for its entry into the French market. The US-based electric vehicle maker announced the operational collaboration, which combines Lucid's own import structure with Emil Frey France's automotive know-how and support services.

As part of the launch, Lucid and Emil Frey France plan to introduce the brand and its products at the 2026 Paris Motor Show next month. The partnership is expected to support the French roll-out of Lucid's vehicle range, including the Lucid Air saloon and the Lucid Gravity SUV.

Partnership structure and roles

Under the agreement, Lucid will retain control of its brand, commercial strategy, and customer experience through its own import organisation. Emil Frey France's Import Division will act as a service partner, providing flexible operational services tailored to Lucid's specific requirements. These services are designed to support customers across a range of functions.

Lucid president of Europe Lawrence Hamilton stated that France represents a key pillar of the company's expansion strategy. "This partnership brings together our industry-leading vehicles and technology with Emil Frey's unparalleled operational expertise and customer support," Hamilton said.

Strategic market importance

Lawrence Hamilton described France as one of Europe's most important automotive markets. The collaboration aims to build a foundation for delivering exceptional customer experiences as Lucid continues to grow its vehicle lineup.

Pierre Guignot, general manager of the Emil Frey France Import Division, echoed this sentiment. "This collaboration reflects our commitment to supporting manufacturers that are redefining the automotive industry," Guignot said. He emphasized their role as a bespoke service partner creating conditions for a successful market launch.
