The iCaur V25 has been spotted testing in Malaysia, appearing as a larger version of the V23. The vehicle was posted to the paultan.org Automotive/Car Discussion Group by user Vuvera Afiq. It confirms the V25’s existence following its recent unveiling. Malaysia is being used as a test bed for the boxy SUV.
Days ago, iCaur released right-hand-drive images of the V25 and announced it will be the brand’s first model in Australia, with a launch scheduled for early 2027. The V25 is a range-extended EV, essentially a V23 with a petrol engine.
Specs are not yet official, but the V25 is expected to use the REEV powertrain from the larger V27. This would pair a 1.5-litre turbo-four engine producing 156 PS and 220 Nm with either a single motor delivering 252 PS and 300 Nm or dual motors producing 455 PS and 505 Nm.
According to China’s Autohome, the most powerful version accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. It features a 33.679 kWh LFP battery offering over 210 km of pure electric CLTC range, equivalent to around 170 km WLTP, and a total range exceeding 1,200 km.
The V25 measures 4,636 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,855 mm in height. Compared to the V23, it is 416 mm longer, 5 mm wider, and 10 mm taller. Of the added length, 85 mm contributes to the 2,820 mm wheelbase, with most extra millimetres in the rear overhang.
Design updates include round-ring LED DRLs replacing the V23’s horizontal bar, rectangular pressings on the rear quarter panels for accessories, and a lowered number plate recess to accommodate a full-sized spare. The test mule in Malaysia shows a square ‘backpack’ and a fridge-style vertical handle on the side-hinged back door.
Inside, changes are minimal: chunky switchgear, a 15.4-inch infotainment touchscreen, an actual instrument display, more physical controls, and a new centre console with twin phone holders and a Qi wireless charger.
The larger footprint improves rear accommodation, offering more legroom and a proper three-person bench, unlike the V23’s two-focused layout with an afterthought centre seat belt.
As a confirmed RHD model and with Malaysia serving as Chery Group’s RHD hub, the V25 is expected to reach showrooms soon, though it will launch after the V27, which is due later this year.
